What is Nature-Based Therapy?

Spending time in nature has a way of softening the nervous system and opening us up to new perspectives. In nature-based therapy, the natural world becomes a co-therapist—offering grounding, reflection, and connection beyond what we may be able to find within four walls. Being in nature often makes it easier to slow down, feel more present in the body, and access deeper layers of healing.

Sessions might include walking or sitting outdoors, while connecting to the landscape and elements around us. In this way, we draw upon nature as a guide, mentor, and resource to help regulate us and move through/with whatever challenge we are faced with.

Sessions typically weave nature-based therapy with Somatic Experiencing® and/or Parts Work. And, yes! We can do nature-based therapy virtually too!
